Grill size depends on how many people you typically cook for. A 30-inch grill works for most families. 36-inch and larger make sense for frequent entertaining. Consider whether you want a dedicated side burner — useful for sauces and sides but not essential.

A built-in grill is designed to sit in a cutout in your outdoor kitchen counter — it has no cart or cabinet below and a finished face. Freestanding grills stand alone on casters. Built-ins are more integrated and durable; freestandings are portable and easier to replace.

Yes — a dedicated natural gas line from the house or a large propane tank. Natural gas is preferred for built-ins (no tank refills). We coordinate the gas line installation with a licensed plumber as part of the outdoor kitchen project.

Clean grates after each use, clean the burners and interior regularly, and cover the grill when not in use. Stainless steel components benefit from occasional stainless polish to prevent surface pitting in coastal or humid environments.
