A like-for-like tub replacement typically takes 2–3 days — demo, any necessary tile work, plumbing adjustment, and installation. A conversion to a shower or a larger tub requiring plumbing relocation adds time.

If you have two or more bathrooms, keeping a tub in one and converting the primary bath to a walk-in shower is usually the right call for resale value. If you only have one bathroom, keeping the tub is wise.

Acrylic is lightweight and warm to the touch — the most common choice. Cast iron retains heat longer but is heavy and expensive. Stone resin tubs are premium and heavy. We discuss your priorities (heat retention, look, budget) and recommend accordingly.
